OPI "Jade Is the New Black"

i know this is an old polish from the Hong Kong collection, but i decided to try it out after Ulta "Urban Jungle" was too dark. "Jade Is the New Black" truly is a unique colour as others have said. since i now buy polishes expecting them to dry darker than the bottle, i figured this colour would be a good buy, and i was right.

Ulta Professional "Urban Jungle"

meh. picked this one up on impulse from Ulta's new Fall collection. it's a dark forest green with a slight silver shimmer. nice colour but it turned out to be too dark and too bluish for me. i'm on the hunt for a dark olive green now.

Barielle Shades "Aura Angora"

this brand popped up last week at Ulta. i was unenthusiastic until i saw this shade. i've been looking for a good ochre/mustard polish forever. i bought "Aura Angora" immediately and tried it out a few days later. honestly, i was disappointed. the formula was too thick and soft and the brush sucked. the colour dried darker than the bottle (which i've noticed is the case for all polishes) and ended up being closer to a tan/camel/nude shade than a yellow. so that means i'm still on the hunt.

Sephora by OPI "BYO Boy"

i'd been going back and forth on this polish since i saw it. i wanted it because it reminded me of vulvae. i finally decided to buy it and i was quite pleased. it's nice and rosy. my mom wants to borrow it; i don't consider this a bad thing but some people might :)
it's similar to Revlon "Teak Rose" but lighter and more pinkish.

Maybelline Express Finish "Gray-T Glamour"

this was an impulse buy when i saw it on display at CVS. it's part of the new Fall 2010 Runway collection. it was the subtle shimmer that sold me on this polish. i'm really happy with this polish, especially for the price. the application was fine for me. it was nice and opaque. for being a cool grey, it looked nice with my skin tone. i apologize for the sad state of my cuticles right now.

OPI "Bright Lights, Big Color"

i saw this at a local beauty supply store and immediately fell in love with it. remember, i'm going through an orange-coral-peach phase right now. i bought it without considering how similar it might be to my bottle of Sally Hansen "Sunrise, Sunset". well, the two are similar, but "Bright Lights, Big Colour" is darker and more red with a more multicoloured shimmer as opposed to the green shimmer of "Sunrise, Sunset".
the formula on this one was great; went on smooth and lasted a long time.
so now i have two gorgeous shimmery orange polishes that i adore!

Zoya "Adina"

i knew i'd love this colour based on how it looks in the bottle. believe it or not, it looks even BETTER on the nail. i wish i'd applied three coats instead of two, but it's still a stunner. my nails kept catching my eye throughout the days i wore it.
i love duochromes and this is a fantastic one.
