i recently purchased Clarins "230" and decided that "Peacock" was the perfect polish to layer it over. i was right.
Clarins "230" IS a neat polish. i don't think it deserves the hype or is worth the price it fetches. it is SO sheer that you CANNOT wear it on its own. it doesn't sparkle as much without opaque underwear. it's SMELLY!! the fumes are pretty bad. the sparkles are predominantly red but at certain angles they are bright green.
i enjoyed trying this polish out and getting some good photos of it but i've already sold my bottle. the unicorn pee doesn't thrill me.
it got me thinking though, what i really want to see is a full-spectrum rainbow multichrome. maybe if i hoard a bunch of "230" bottles, evaporate them, and harvest all the pigment...
Perhaps it's like fractals of the polish world? I'm not blown away by 230 (though it IS very cool), but I would LOVE to find, like.. a basket full of the polish at a yard sale. BANK.
ReplyDeleteyeah probably, but with the recent influx of them it's not even so ~special anymore. i could go the rest of my life without seeing another 230 spam post on the NB hah.
