China Glaze "Grape Pop"

i pulled "Grape Pop" out of my untrieds last night and did a nice manicure with it. "Grape Pop" is from the Spring 2010 Up & Away collection, which i personally thought was a total home run by China Glaze. it's full of gorgeous colours with great formulas (i also own "Four Leaf Clover" and "Flyin' High"). i swapped for it a couple weeks ago. i figured, what the hey, i need a nice dark purple creme since i'm NEVER GETTING MY PAWS ON "Sapphire In the Snow". i've been searching high and low for it to no avail, despite coming across nearly every other polish from its original collection.
i don't like to hold on to unattainable lemmings, so i let it go.
"Grape Pop" turned out to be lovely. the formula, though a little gummy, is easily opaque in 2 coats. it's highly pigmented and glossy.

and i was totally satisfied with this manicure until i took a trip to a local dusty this morning and found these:

"Merry Midnight" and--that's right--"Sapphire In the Snow" from the Winter 2009 Holiday Wishes collection! i was flabbergasted because i've been to this dusty multiple times and investigated their entire stock. it appeared that the owner had reorganized some of the store and i'm guessing these 2 polishes were recovered in the scuffle. imagine my disbelief!

i've decided, for now at least, to keep both polishes as they are clearly different. "Sapphire In the Snow" is darker than i expected it to be, so i'm not sure if i'll like it.

it just so totally figures that things would work out this way!

on another note, i am so far in love with Poshe Super Fast Drying top coat!

  1. Ooooohhh... Grape Pop is SO PRETTY! I'm excited to see Sapphire in the Snow, too... looks like maybe it's closer to China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway? Anyway, enjoy the fun finds!
