first of all, i have to tell you all, i think i died and went to nail polish heaven today. i found a nail supply store that had more nail polish in one room than i've ever seen. they must've carried at least 15 brands, some i'd never seen or heard of before. i perused as long as i could without looking like a weirdo and came back with the following:
OPI "Mad as a Hatter" (for swap, this place had, i kid you not, 10 EACH of "Absolutely Alice" and "Mad As a Hatter"), China Glaze "Pin Prick" (die lemming die!), Essie "Night Cap" (ancient glaze), Essie "Grape Crush" (also ancient glaze), Seche Vite "Vancouver" (a little frosty but most delightful!)
a bunch of Dare 2 Wear mood polishes?! for $.50 each! there were actually two big baskets of 3 different brands of mood polish. one brand was shaped like light bulbs?
look how pretty! there were a TON of colours but i picked the ones i liked
i wasn't sure they'd turn colours though, but i was excited to find out!!
alas, i cannot get them to change colour! but they are so pretty. one is brown with green shimmer! the last blue one looks like a suede texture
also! "Pin Prick" has usurped the throne previously held by "Friar, Friar, Pants On Fire!". LOOK HOW HOT "PIN PRICK" IS OMG AND IT'S A JELLY
and check this out! Seche Vite "Vancouver" is almost identical to Sally Hansen HD "Opulent Cloud"! the Seche just doesn't have the gold iridescence.i am most happy for spending under $20 :D
Nice Haul. I love getting good deals locally.
ReplyDeleteI envy you, I'd kill for a nail supply store like that!
ReplyDeleteGood haul :]
thank you! i might go back tomorrow, oh dear...
ReplyDeleteThat's a perk living in Cali :) A lovely blogger found Nubar for $3.50. Mad as a Hatter would be a great shade for swap, lots of people still don't have it
ReplyDeleteI wish we had places like that in Sweden :)
ReplyDeleteJealous! My local nail place with unexpected treasures is going through remodeling so I will have to live without a fix for the next three months... waaaah! Any chance you'd be willing to go back for more of those Mad as a Hatters and sell them? I would be SO willing to pay for one! I have the cutest flats from the GAP that would match that polish perfectly and I was never able to find it.
ReplyDeleteConcerning the "mood" polishes, for some reason those kinds of things DO have a half life. For example, American Apparel's "thermochromatic" clothing. Just like their predecessors in the 80's, the fabric eventually becomes unresponsive to any temperature change and eventually they all just look like plain t-shirts again.
ReplyDeleteBut I have a blue one that still works for now :-)
Oh my, MAAH is gorgeous. I acutally have one bottle (it was hard to find and a pay little too much :P) but getting a back up would be just fine. You're very lucky! :)
