about my photos
-i currently use a Canon EOS Rebel XSi DSLR with a standard 18-55mm zoom lens to photograph my nails. i typically use it fully zoomed at 55mm with a wider aperture such as f/8.0 but it depends on my available light. i either use natural daylight or a full-spectrum lamp. i often use a custom white balance setting and a grey card to achieve accurate colours.
-i use Adobe Photoshop CS5 to edit my photos. i try to get my photos' colours as true-to-life as possible so that they are an accurate representation of the products i review. mostly the editing i do is minor such as cropping, resizing, sharpening, and using spot healing brush and clone tool to clean up my imperfect cuticles, although i occasionally colour correct to make my photos look more accurate to real life.
